The Pack'Em Rack # PK-6-OP1 really is intended for holding a trimmer. I'm not saying that you couldn't hang a ladder from it, but my concern is that the shape and size of the hooks may not accommodate some ladders or it may not hold the ladder at tightly or securely as it should. I suppose a lot of that depends on what kind of ladder you have, but we really cannot recommend using this to hold a ladder.

The 2017 Toyota Tundra CrewMax has a 5.5' bed correct? If so, a great option for a ladder rack is the TruXedo Elevate Truck Bed Rack System # TX96NV. I have a solution for you Travis as Pace Edwards does not offer a contractor rack for your 2023 GMC Sierra 1500. Instead you can use the Pace Edwards Full-Metal JackRabbit Retractable Hard Tonneau Cover # 311-M-FMCA28A59 with the Thule TracRac SR Sliding Truck Bed Ladder Rack # TH43002XT-781EX. I do feel this is a much better solution as well because when you need to throw a tall object in your bed you can simply slide the rear uprights to the front of your bed. The TruXedo Elevate Truck Bed Rack System # TX96NV does have channels in the top of the crossbars. The Malone MegaWing # MPG207 you were looking at clamps on and only fits crossbars up to 3-1/2" wide so it wouldn't work with the ladder rack.

The height from the bed to the cover isn't something the manufacturers measure or that I am able to find. The difference between covers to be minimal since they all have similar designs and installation processes. However, the Lomax # AB1050029 likely sits a little higher with a top of bed rails mount. This sticks up 1/2" above the bed rails.
